Gakuyuini PB is a vibrant and expressive Kenyan coffee, grown in the fertile volcanic soils of Kirinyaga County, nestled on the slopes of Mount Kenya. This peaberry selection is composed of the revered SL28 and SL34 varietals—cultivars celebrated for their exceptional cup quality and resilience.
Roasted with versatility in mind, this coffee shines both as a juicy, bright filter brew and a dynamic, syrupy espresso. Expect notes of blackcurrant, red grape, and citrus zest, with a structured sweetness and a clean, wine-like acidity.
What is Peaberry?
Unlike most coffee cherries, which produce two flat-sided beans, a peaberry is a natural mutation where only one rounded seed develops inside the cherry. This denser, smaller bean is often separated during processing for its unique shape and flavor potential. Peaberries are prized for their concentrated character and can often yield a slightly brighter, more intense cup.
