This exceptional coffee comes from the Maguta Estate, located in Nyeri, Kenya - at the base of Mount Kenya, where nutrient-rich volcanic soils, high altitude, and cool mountain air create ideal conditions for growing expressive and refined coffees.

 

The HP4 is a high quality coffee bean, specifically a micro-lot from the Maguta Estate known for its exceptional methods. This lot features the revered Kenyan varieties SL28 and SL34, known for their complexity and vibrant acidity. What makes this coffee even more distinctive is its carbonic maceration washed process - a fermentation method where whole cherries are sealed in a CO₂-rich environment before washing. This technique enhances clarity, structure, and aromatic intensity.

 

Roasted for filter, the result is a clean and elegant cup with vivid notes of pink rose and green apple, a bright acidity, and a soft, silky mouthfeel.
